Herbert George Wells pen name H.G. Wells was a prolific English writer. He wrote in many genres including novel, history, politics, social commentary, textbooks and rules for war games. Wells is, however, mostly known for his contributions to science fiction and is called the “Father of Science Fiction”.

The Time Machine Summary:

The protagonist, who is an English gentleman scientist and inventor and lives in Richmond, Surrey in Victorian England. The narrator simply identifies him as the Time Traveller. The narrator recounts the Traveller’s lecture to his weekly dinner visitors that time is actually a fourth dimension, and his demonstrates a tabletop machine for travelling through time. He reveals that he has constructed a device able of carrying someone through time, and returns at dinner the following week to recount a remarkable story, becoming the new narrator. In the new narrative, the narrator tells his quest of Time Travel.
